Got It In The Bag?

Is there anything like too many bags? We think not. We are positively obsessed with our collection and can’t keep having enough of them! No wonder, each occasion demands a different bag and we end up buying a more than what is desired because of our lack of self-control. It is every girl’s nightmare to not have that perfect bag to carry. The need to own and have a different bag for every outing is natural and to give you a better insight into the world of bags, we have decoded a couple patterns for you. Each bag has a history and its own tricks and styles. Next time you pick your bag, be sure have your basics right rather than just buying one!

Shoulder Bag – The shoulder bag was essentially used to deliver letters in the old times. Don’t be surprised when we say that this bag was actually crafted for men rather than for women. Today, the shoulder bag or the one-strap bag is a necessity for every woman. Giving us space to dump our many kilos of daily products, it is not an exaggeration that shoulder bags carry our world.

Tote – Tote literally means to ‘to carry’. Usually made of tough materials like jute, totes are every college goer’s better half. Today, the leather totes are crafted in many colours and patterns which give them a bold finish. The distinct shape of the tote and space it provides to carry your daily essentials makes it an obvious choice to carry to the workspace.

Backpack – Every girl’s dream is to have that one bag which she can pull on her shoulder and hit the road. That’s what backpacks are made for. Earlier used for hiking, travelling and camping, these bags play a multi-functional role today. A sassy way to carry your belongings, backpacks can be trusted blindly to look elegant and play their role at the same time.

Satchel – Go back to the college days when we used to unload piles of books in a bag and carry it on one shoulder. Little did we know that these bags, known as Satchels, would come to our rescue in adulthood as well. A bag with one grab handle and one shoulder sling is typically soft-sided, unlike a briefcase. Traditionally, the strap is worn in such a way that it crosses over your body and hangs on the hips.

Hobo bag – Similar to a jhola bag, this is a type of handbag which forms a crescent shape at its mouth. Typically, a hobo bag provides a lot of space and is quite airy. Made from a soft or foldable material, these bags make sure that they don’t take much of space in your wardrobe.

Bucket bag – Known for its rounded base, the bag takes its name from the similarity it shares with the shape of a bucket. Usually, a bucket bag has a wide mouth along with a strap to tie it close. Easy to carry, the shoulder strap ensures that it withholds the weight of the bag and sometimes has a grab handle, which gives one more arrangement to carry it.

Sling bag – This one needs no introduction! Our personal favourite, the sling bags are synonymous with must-haves. Crafted in multiple patterns like zip top slings and top over slings, the small bags make it a point that we carry bare essentials.

Clutches – Less is more, right? The small purse is easy to carry and takes care of your basic needs. Available in many colours and patterns, clutches are a common sight at traditional functions.
