Operating under the shadow of COVID-19 pandemic, Metro Shoe stores that are re-opening in India are trying their best to keep customers and staff healthy and safe. The health and safety of customers and employees is our top priority.
Metro Shoes has laid down certain safety measures right from its warehouse to the store to ensure that customers take back nothing but smiles.

Our safety starts with our warehouse, so you can stop worrying and shop care-free.

Safety At the entrance of Warehouse: –

Our staff and vendors have to sanitize their hands before entering the warehouse. Also, there will be thermal scanning of temperatures for each individual entering the warehouse.

Staff Safety Inside the Warehouse: –

Our staff will be wearing hand gloves and face mask all the time to avoid any direct contact with the products. They will also maintain 3-6 feet safe distance, at the workplace and even in the canteen. Employees will be working on alternate days to ensure a minimum number of employees at any given day.

Goods and their Safety at the Warehouse: –

There are designated zones where goods will be loaded/unloaded. Also, no loose goods will be accepted at the warehouse. We have made sure that only goods in cartons are accepted. And once they are received they will be sanitized thoroughly and kept aside in a well-ventilated, designated area for 24 hours before they are opened.

And now when you enter any of our stores across India you will be shopping care-free. We are following the below steps, so you can step out in style.

At the Entrance of Every Store: –

We have placed a sanitized mat at the entrance of the store, so before you enter the store make sure you wipe your shoes. And sanitize your hands before entering the store.

Store Cleanliness: –

Our stores will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at every interval. All touch surfaces like shoe racks, seats, trial shoes, doors and handle, impact tables, and cash counters are cleaned and disinfected every one-hour. Not forgetting the swipe machines and keypads too.

Staff Will Follow the Basic Norms: –

Our staff will be wearing face masks and hand gloves compulsory throughout the day. Our staff will maintain a safe distance of at least 3-6 feet from colleagues and guests. There are seats that will be kept vacant to maintain social distancing.

Go Cashless and make use of Digital Payments: –

To prevent the spread of #COVID19 through currency notes, let us go digital and make all our payments digitally. All our Metro shoe store does accept digital payment.

While we are now open, we would love to have you over but with masks on and maintaining social distancing. We are excited to see you all at the store. You can also shop online at www.metroshoes.net

With highly contagious coronavirus (COVID19) rapidly spreading throughout the world, many people are shopping for surgical masks to protect against this dangerous disease. Most of the time these masks are not available due to a shortage in supply. Hence, we have some super easy DIY face mask at home with supplies that are easily available at your home, you need not go out and get any of the materials.

Before we start, we just want to make you aware of the usage and how to take care of your face mask.

Using and taking care of your mask:

  • Don’t wear it at home, and don’t wear it in the car, unless you’re with people outside your regular family group. Don’t wear it more than necessary – just wear it when you’re in a public place, like a supermarket
  • Don’t remove the mask until you’re at home or in a place where you can wash your hands. When you do remove the mask, avoid touching the front of it in case you breathed in infected droplets that could now be there
  • Once you remove the mask make sure you soak it in soapy water for at least 5 minutes. Any kind of soap – dish soap, laundry detergent, hand soap – will do. Then wash your hands and disinfect with alcohol-based sanitizer anything you touched after taking off the mask. Never reuse a mask without washing it first
  • If you have symptoms – a stuffy nose, a cough, a fever – stay inside.

THE T-SHIRT FACE MASK: –

Materials to be used to make a face mask: –
-An old cotton t-shirt
-Paper towel/coffee filter
-Scissors

Step 1 –
Start with an old T-shirt, preferably 100% cotton – anything will do, as long as it’s not too thin. The bottom line should go just beneath the armpits of the shirt. Make sure the part that goes on your face is large enough to cover your nose and mouth.

Step2-
Cut along the lines through both sides of the shirt so that your mask has two layers.

Step 3-
Place a safety pin along the bottom and insert a piece of paper towel or coffee filter in between the two layers of the T-shirt. This acts as an additional filter and rests on top of the safety pin.

Step 4 –
Secure the mask around the front of your face, covering your nose and mouth. Tie the top straps under the back of your head and the bottom straps at the top of your head. That will ensure a nice fit underneath your chin.

By covering your mouth, you have now protected those around you, and the better the fit, the more you’re going to also protect yourself.

THE HANDKERCHIEF FACE MASK: –

Materials to be used to make a face mask: –
-A Handkerchief
-Paper towel/coffee filter
-Scissors
-Rubber bands or hair ties

Step 1-
Start with a handkerchief and two hair ties. Rubber bands are okay as well.

Step 2 –
Follow the handkerchief in half, along a horizontal axis, and make a nice crease.

Step 3 –
Place a piece of paper towel or the coffee filter at the center of the handkerchief. Fold the top-down and the bottom up, so that the paper towel and coffee filter rests in the fold.

Step 4 –
Place your first elastic about one-third of the way in from the edge of the handkerchief. Place the second elastic one-third of the way in from the other side. The two elastics should be about one hand-width apart.

Step 5 –
Fold the left side in toward the center and then fold the right side in toward the center, tucking the right side into the left-side flap.

IF YOU KNOW HOW TO SEW

Materials you’ll need

  • Cotton fabric
  • Elastic (or rubber bands, string, cloth strips, hair ties)
  • Needle & thread (or a bobby pin or sewing machine)
  • Scissors

Ready to make your mask: –

Step 1 –
Cut your cotton fabric into two 10″ by 6″ rectangles. Place them on top of each other.

Step 2 –
Folder over the long side -1/4 inch and stitch it using a needle and thread you can hem it.

Step 3 –
Then, fold the double layer of fabric over 1/2 inch along the short sides and stitch down.

Step 4 –
Take a thread that is 6-inch long, 1/8- inch-wide piece of elastic through the wider hem on each side of the mask and knot it. If you don’t have elastic, you can do the same with hair ties or rubber bands. If you only have string or fabric, you can make the ties longer and tie the mask behind your head. Pull the ear lopes so the knots are tucked inside the hem.

Step 5-
At the end stitch the elastic or fabric in place on the corner of the mask to keep it from slipping and there you have stitched your mask in 5 steps.

An Advisory Tip: –
We recommend making 3 masks per person: one to wear, one in the wash, one for a spare or to share. Remember, always remove the mask carefully. Wash your hands and face immediately after removing the mask. And wash your mask after every time you use it.
